• Bachelor of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.)

    1. Citizenship: The Applicant must be a citizen of India.
    2. Age- Not less than 17 years and not more than 25 years as on or before 31st December of that year of admission. There shall be a relaxation of the upper age limit by maximum 5 (five) years for SC/ST/OBC-A & B candidates.
    3. The candidate must qualify and obtain a rank in the NEET-UG-2021 conducted by NTA.
    4. The candidate must be a domicile of West Bengal.
    5. The candidate must pass Higher Secondary (10+2) Examination of the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination in science stream from any recognized Board/ Council from any institution.
    6. The candidate must pass the Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent examinations from any recognized Board/ Council with Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology and English as compulsory subjects with individual pass marks (in both theory and practical wherever applicable) in all the above four subjects in regular class mode.
    7. The candidate must obtain 50 % marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology and English taken together for unreserved category and 47.5 % in case of reserved category candidates.

    Note:

    1. Students of the Open schooling are not eligible for the course.
    2. The Candidate should attain 17 years of age as on 31st December in the year of application.
    3. Only medically fit candidates declared by the University Medical Officer or a Medical Board constituted for the purpose will be considered for admission during verification before commencement of semester.
    4. Candidates selected for admission shall be required to deposit the fees etc. at the time of admission through online payment system. The right of admission of a candidate will summarily be rejected if a candidate fails to produce his/her original documents and /or pay the requisite fees for the purpose at the schedule time of admission.
    5. The Admission will be provisional subject to verification of original mark sheets of all the examinations passed together along with the admit card/ birth certificate as proof of his/her age and other relevant documents before commencement of semester.
    6. The admission criteria for Person with Disability (PwD*) candidate as mentioned by the Veterinary Council of India (VCI), New Delhi will be based on his/ her marks in the qualifying examinations as well as degree of disability which will not cause any inconvenience to the candidate to pursue his/her studies in particular course. In this regard, the decision of the Admission Committee and University Medical Officer or a Medical Board Constituted for the purpose will be final.
  • Bachelor of Fishery Sciences (B.F.Sc)

    1. Citizenship: The Applicant must be a citizen of India.
    2. Age- Not less than 17 years as on 31st December in the year of application.
    3. The candidate must be a domicile of West Bengal.
    4. The candidate must pass Higher Secondary ( 10+2) Examination of the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination in science stream from any recognized Board/ Council from any institution.
    5. The candidate must pass the Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent examinations with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as compulsory subjects with individual pass marks (in both theory and practical wherever applicable) in all the above four subjects in regular class mode.
    6. The candidate must obtain at least 50 % marks (40 % in case of candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PwD) in above four subjects taken together.
    7. The selection of students for admission will be done as per merit list without any Entrance Examination. The merit list will be prepared according to percentage of total marks obtained in the subjects of H.S. or it’s equivalent examinations as stated above.

    Note:

    1. Candidates of other Board/Council (10+2) level passed from any institutions will be considered provided that he/she is a domicile in West Bengal.
    2. Students of the Vocational stream or Open schooling are not eligible for the course.

  • Bachelor of Technology (Dairy Technology) (B.Tech.-DT)

    1. Citizenship: The Applicant must be a citizen of India.
    2. Age- Not less than 17 years as on 31st December in the year of application.
    3. The candidate must be a domicile of West Bengal.
    4. The candidates must qualify in the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination for Engineering/ Technology (WBJEE) conducted by WBJEEB.
    5. The candidate must pass Higher Secondary ( 10+2) Examination of the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination in science stream from any recognized Board/ Council from any institution.
    6. The candidate must pass the Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent examinations with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects with individual pass marks (in both theory and practical wherever applicable) in all the above four subjects in regular class mode.
    7. The candidate must obtain at least 50 % marks (40 % in case of candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PwD) in above four subjects taken together.
  • Master’s Degree Programme

    1. Minimum Requirement: The candidates for admission to Master’s Degree Programme must have B.V.Sc. & A.H/ B.Tech. (Dairy Technology)/ B.F.Sc. from a recognized University with minimum 55% marks in aggregate (50% marks for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B candidates) in traditional system or with a minimum 6.2 OGPA (6.0 for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B candidates) in 10 point system. Submission of PDC/Final Transcript is obligatory with application form.

    2. Selection of Candidates:

    • The selection of candidates shall be strictly on the basis of merit and performance in the personal interview. The merit shall be decided on the basis of percentage of marks in aggregate or O.G.P.A. in Bachelor’s Degree Examination as well as marks or O.G.P.A. in subject concerned in which admission is sought. The total marks for preparation of merit list shall be 100 out of which 80% on merit (the relative weightage on the overall performance in the Bachelor’s Degree and in the subject concerned i.e. 50 marks from OGPA obtained in UG level and 30 marks from the subject concern) and 20% on personal interview (online mode).
    • The candidate shall score a minimum of 50% in aggregate of merit and interview altogether (i.e. 50 out of 100) to qualify for admission into Postgraduate Programme.
    • The candidates selected through ICAR all India Examination for admission to Master’s Degree course shall be exempted from aforesaid selection process.

    3. In-Service Candidates: Candidates must fulfill the minimum requirement of Master’s Degree Programme as stated above. However, the selection procedure shall follow the Rules as stated above. There is no separate quota for In-service candidates. ‘NOC’ from the employer of the In-service candidate is obligatory during the time of application.

    4. Admission for enrolment: All the admission will be provisional. However, physical verification of all the relevant original documents is mandatory as per the date(s) notified for the purpose. The candidates have to undergo medical fitness examination conducted by Medical Officer, if needed. The admission, enrolment fees and the tuition fees paid at the time of admission are not refundable.

    5. Registration: A selected candidate after payment of his/her fees for admission shall get himself/herself registered within the prescribed date. No candidate under any circumstances shall be permitted to register himself/herself after the expiry of date or stipulated time in first and subsequent semesters as notified from time to time. He/ She has to pay the fees before registration in any semester.

    6. Cancellation of Admission: If it is found at any stage that a candidate has obtained admission by suppression or misrepresentation of facts, his/her admission shall be liable to automatic cancellation. No refund of fees will be allowed.

    7. Migration certificate: Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination from Universities other than this University shall be required to produce the Migration Certificate (within the first semester of study before commencement of end-term examination) of the University from which they have passed the qualifying examination.

  • Doctor of Philosophy (Ph. D.)

    1. Minimum Requirement

    • Admission to Ph.D. course of the University shall open to candidates holding a two years Master’s degree in Veterinary & Animal Sciences, M.Tech. (Dairy Technology/ Dairy Chemistry/ Dairy Microbiology) and M.F.Sc. and securing at least 55% marks in aggregate or 2.75 OGPA in 4.00 point scale or 6.75 in 10 point scale following a Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary and Animal Sciences (5 years)/ Dairy Technology (4 years)/ Fishery Sciences (4 years) from a recognized University or National Institute.
    • Candidates seeking admission to Ph.D. course in a subject shall have passed the Master’s Degree in the same subject and also have done sufficient courses in the proposed major field of specialization within the subject.

    2. Selection of Candidates:

    • The selection of candidates shall be strictly on the basis of academic score and performance in the personal interview. The academic score (80 marks) shall be decided on the basis of percentage of marks in aggregate or OGPA in Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree Examination (i.e.- 30 marks from Bachelor’s Degree level and 50 marks from Master’s Degree level). The total marks for preparation of merit list shall be 100 out of which 80% on academic score, and 20% on personal interview.
    • The candidate shall score a minimum of 50% in aggregate of merit and interview altogether (i.e. 50 out of 100) to qualify for admission into Ph.D. Programme.
    • Controller of Examinations shall publish the list of candidates recommended for admission in the notice board/ website before the date of admission.
    • The candidates selected through ICAR all India Examination for admission to Ph.D. programme shall be exempted from aforesaid selection process. However, should posses the minimum qualification as stated above.

    3. Number of candidates: The number of Ph.D. students to be admitted to the in each academic year in a Department is to be decided by the Board of Studies and approved by the Faculty Council depending upon the resources and facilities available in the department concerned. In principal, total number of seats (maximum) in a Department in an academic year will be in the ratio of 1:1 (teacher eligible to guide a student: Number of Students). There shall be maximum three seats in a department

    4. In-Service Candidates: Candidates must fulfill the minimum requirement of Ph.D. programme as stated above. However, the selection procedure shall follow the Rules as stated above. There is no separate quota for In-service candidates. ‘NOC’ from the employer of the In-service candidate is obligatory during the time of application.

    5. Admission for enrollment: Candidates selected for admission shall be required to show all the original certificates and mark sheets to fulfill the minimum requirement for admission. The candidates have to undergo medical fitness examination conducted by Medical Officer. After verification of certificates and medical examination the candidates have to deposit the enrolment and admission fee, tuition fees for the first semester along with other fees as per prescribed fees structure of the University by cash through Bank challan in Belgachia (University Campus) branch only of Union Bank of India. The admission, enrolment fees and the tuition fees paid at the time of admission are not refundable.

    6. Registration: A selected candidate after payment of his/her fees for admission as mentioned above, shall get himself/ herself registered within the prescribed date, which normally shall not be later than the working day immediately preceding the date of commencement of instruction. No candidate under any circumstances shall be permitted to register himself/ herself after the expiry of the date or stipulated time. He/ She has to pay the fees before registration in any semester.

    7. Cancellation of Admission:  If it is found at any stage that a candidate has obtained admission by suppression or misinterpretation of facts, his/her admission shall liable to stand be cancelled.

    8. Migration certificate: Candidate who has passed the qualifying examination from Universities other than this University shall be required to produce Migration Certificate of the University from which they have passed the qualifying examination within the first semester before the commencement of the end term examination.

    9. Withdrawal from University : A student who desires to get withdrawal from the University shall apply in writing (in prescribed format) for a Withdrawal Certificate, which shall be granted to him/her in the prescribed form on clearance of all his/her dues to the University up to the end of the semester in which he/she applied for withdrawal. A student shall get withdrawal after completion of minimum two semesters.

    10. Re-admission: So as to he/she may complete his/her course within the stipulated maximum period, a student who has been granted Withdrawal Certificate may be re-admitted (once only).

  • Diploma in Veterinary Pharmacy (DVP)

    1. Citizenship: The Applicant must be a citizen of India.
    2. Age- Not less than 17 years and not more than 32 years as on 31st December of the year of application. There shall be a relaxation of the upper age limit by maximum 3 (three) years for SC/ST/OBC-A & B candidates.
    3. The candidate must be a domicile of West Bengal.
    4. The candidate must pass Higher Secondary (10+2) Examination of the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination in science stream from any recognized Board/ Council from any institution within West Bengal.
    5. The candidate must pass the Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent examinations with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Mathematics as compulsory subjects with individual pass marks (in both theory and practical wherever applicable) in all the above four subjects in regular class mode.
    6. The candidate must obtain at least 45 % marks (40 % in case of candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PwD) in above four subjects taken together.
    7. The selection of students for admission will be done as per merit list without any Entrance Examination. The merit list will be prepared according to percentage of total marks obtained in the subjects of H.S. or it’s equivalent examinations as stated above.
    8. Students of the Vocational stream or Open schooling are not eligible for the course.
